Introduction

Surfbeers (website addresses: www.surfbeers.nl and www.surfbeerstours.com) is owned by FairSights B.V. (hereinafter 'Surfbeers'). Surfbeers publishes an online craft beer magazine and offers self-guided tours including websites and newsletters (hereinafter 'services'). We ask users of our services to read and consent to this Privacy Statement as it applies to how we process personal data of anyone who subscribes to our newsletter, visits our websites or contacts us.

When processing personal data, we comply with the requirements of applicable data protection legislation. This means that we: (a) clearly specify the purposes for which we collect data through this Privacy Statement, (b) limit the collection of personal data to those necessary for legitimate purposes, (c) first seek explicit consent to process personal data if consent is required, (d) implement appropriate security measures to protect personal data and we demand the same from parties processing personal data on our behalf, and (e) respect the right to access, correct or delete personal data in our possession.

Surfbeers is responsible for all data processing. In this Privacy Statement, we explain what personal data we collect and for what purposes. We ask people who do not agree with this Privacy Statement t not to use our services. For those who have questions about the processing of personal data, please refer to Surfbeers' contact details included at the end of this Privacy Statement.

Process Personal Data

Registration. People who want to subscribe to the smust register in advance by entering their e-mail address and confirming it via the e-mail we then send. Surfbeers retains this information for up to one year after cancellation.

Contact form. Of those who contact us by email, a contact form on our website, post or by telephone, Surfbeers processes the information they provide. This includes contact details such as name, email address, telephone number and the reason(s) why they are contacting us.

Analysis of website visits. This site uses Google Analytics to analyse, via 'cookies' (text files placed on users' computers) how visitors use our website. This also stores (part of) visitors' IP addresses. For more information, please see our Terms of Service.

Use Personal Data

Newsletter. Surfbeers uses the email addresses of those who have subscribed to send our newsletter or contact them as subscribers.

Analysis of website visits. The data Surfbeers collects about visitors to our websites are only used to keep statistics about website visits. The data are stored in an anonymous form.

Security. We have taken appropriate technical and organisational security measures to protect your personal data against loss, abuse and unauthorised access by third parties. Moreover, we also oblige and select our ICT providers on the basis of the same security measures.

Share Personal Data

Data storage location. We are a Netherlands-based company and use web servers hosted in the Netherlands. Our hosting provider Hostnet B.V. adheres to the EU 'Privacy Shield', ensuring data is securely stored and GDPR compliant.

Email service provider. The email address of everyone who subscribes to our newsletter is stored by our email service provider Mailerlite. Subscribers can unsubscribe at any time by clicking the link at the bottom of each newsletter. We never use email address to contact subscribers or send them emails other than in connection with the newsletter itself.

Other service providers. Apart from the parties required to provide the services mentioned above, we do not provide personal data to other companies or organisations under any circumstances, unless we are required to do so by law (for example, when the police or the judiciary demand access to personal data when a crime is suspected).

Changes to this Privacy Statement

We reserve the right to amend this statement at any time. We therefore advise users to consult this statement regularly to be informed of any changes.

Rights Interested Parties

All parties of which Surfbeers stores personal data have the following rights when it comes to their personal data:

  1. Right to access and receive a copy of their personal data.

  2. Right to rectify personal data if it is inaccurate or incomplete.

  3. Right to object to processing and/or, in certain cases, the right to restrict it.

  4. Right to have personal data deleted in certain cases (‘right to be forgotten’).

  5. Right to obtain personal data in a structured, common and machine-readable form and to transfer that data to another.

Complaints

Anyone wishing to complain about our use of their personal data, please send us an email with the details of the complaint. We will investigate and respond to any complaint we receive. If people feel we are not helping them properly, they have the right to lodge a complaint with the Dutch Personal Data Authority.
